The Rock is an event for children aged 4-12 running from 10.30am to 12.15pm, normally on the 4th Sunday morning of each month. We teach children about Jesus and the Bible in a fun and fresh way using music, dancing, games and loads of activities. The youth of the church are all encouraged to help run The Rock, either by leading teams, dancing or helping with games. We also cater for children aged 3 and under during The Rock and parents of these children are welcome to stay with them. Take a look at The Rock facebook page - www.facebook.com/TheRockRochfordcc/
Our children’s work happens each Sunday morning from 11.35am -12.15pm (except when the Rock is running).
Children learn about the Bible in creative and interactive ways. Our desire is that they would not only understand the Bible but that they would grow in their experience of and relationship with God.
We run 4 age groups:
Little Stars - 0-3's
Explorers - 4-6's
Adventurers - 6-9's (School years 2-4)
Ignite - 9-13's (School years 5-8)
Every Sunday morning we look to engage the children in the worship.
The first Sunday of the month is an all-age worship time which includes creative elements like dancing, flags and even a parachute. One Sunday each month the children have their own time of worship in the Dining Hall with songs and activities. On communion Sundays (once a month), there is also plenty for the children to engage with.
Ignite meets on Sunday mornings and also on Monday evenings from 6.15pm-7.30pm at Rochford Community hub for a time of fun, games, discussions and talks. We also plan trips throughout the year.
Our aim is that children would see our church gathering as a place they enjoy coming to and feel a part of.
